The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate announces drilling permit for well 6610/10-1 in production licence 386

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for well 6610/10-1, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 6610/10-1 will be drilled from the West Alpha drilling facility at position 66° 14` 09.52" north  and 10° 02´ 46.89" east.

The drilling programme for well 6610/10-1 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 386. Statoil Petroleum AS is the operator with a 100 per cent ownership interest.

The production licence includes parts of the blocks 6609/12, 6610/7 and 6610/10. The production licence was awarded in APA 2005.

Wildcat well 6610/10-1 is the first exploration well in production licence 386.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling starts.
