PetrisWINDS OneTouch -- A New Collaboration And Data Access Platform For The Oil Industry

Monday, May 18, 2009

Petris Technology, Inc. has announced a new exploration and production (E&P) knowledge portal – PetrisWINDS OneTouch. OneTouch will help organizations and asset teams make decisions faster and more accurately by bringing all users and data together through a web based work space and data environment.

OneTouch integrates the Microsoft Office SharePoint and ESRI geographic information system with the PetrisWINDS Enterprise framework, a Petris service-oriented architecture (SOA) solution which provides open, accessible and reliable information from any data source.

To accelerate the deployment of the OneTouch technology worldwide, Petris has formed a strategic partnership with Wipro Technologies, the IT Services business of Wipro Limited, a global leader in integrated business technology and process solutions. The goal of the alliance is to match Petris’ experience in complex E&P data management with Wipro’s global manpower, expertise and technology services.

Since many E&P companies already have SharePoint and ESRI, OneTouch adds significant value and increases the return on investment by offering an easy to use E&P domain-specific solution through an advanced web browser.

OneTouch includes a hosted E&P Web Part Gallery for customers to access and contribute UI designs and business intelligence developed by Petris and other clients. The Web Parts will be available in a searchable on-line Gallery; Petris will provide technical guidelines, based on portal standards, to ensure shareable functionality between companies and to permit easy connection to in-house and public back end services.

This will produce a rapid and rich set of displays and analytics that will make all subscribers’ OneTouch systems much more valuable, without costly development. Users will be empowered with faster access to quality data, better collaboration and communication, and increased productivity.

SharePoint and OneTouch deployments are highly configurable, the Petris-Wipro partnership will help customers build an effective solution, search for related information quicker, and instantly link to the appropriate resources when necessary. This will offer the maximum capacity to provide customers with quality data upfront.

"The ESRI and Microsoft SharePoint platforms offer many ‘out of the box’ features, many of which exploit and amplify an organization's existing infrastructure,” says Jim Pritchett, CEO of Petris. “Similarly, Petris has existing capabilities with its integration platform and well-entrenched applications in E&P. Working with Wipro, we can deliver a very powerful collaboration and decision-based work environment on a global basis."

Petris’ partner, Wipro, brings over 25 years of global delivery in technology services. “We are excited to partner with Petris because of their extensive E&P data management expertise,” said Dayapatra Nevatia, the head of Energy business at Wipro. “Maintaining the effective synergy of data, and technology will bring tremendous value to the E&P industry.”
