Pall Corporation /quotes/comstock/13*!pll/quotes/nls/pll (PLL 35.89, +1.70, +4.97%) has been contracted to supply critical enabling technologies for the Habshan 5 natural gas treatment plant being constructed by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO) in the UAE. A joint venture of Tecnimont S.p.A., an Italian engineering contractor, and JGC Corp., a Japanese engineering contractor, has ordered Pall SepraSol(TM) liquid/gas coalescer systems, Ultipleat(R) High Flow and Coreless Profile(R) filters, porous metal high flow elements with PMF(TM) media, and activated carbon units for the approximately $5 billion processing plant.
"Pall is gratified to be selected by JGC-Tecnimont Joint Venture to support the Habshan 5 Process Plant project," said Greg Collins, president, Pall Energy. "Our products will purify incoming gas, protect pipelines and process equipment, and optimize the performance of acid gas treatment systems for Habshan 5 as they do for other projects in the oil and gas sector."
SepraSol Plus coalescers provide advanced separation in large-scale, highly demanding oil and gas processing applications. They remove several times more liquid per unit area from high flow gas streams than conventional technology. At the Habshan 5 plant the coalescers will treat inlet gas and operate in the amine and glycol treatment systems. The Ultipleat High Flow and Coreless Profile filters will remove high volumes of particulates, optimizing the efficiency and operation of the acid gas treatment unit and resulting in significantly fewer cartridge change-outs. The Total Fluid Management Solution(SM) to be employed by Pall will provide maximum equipment and process protection, thereby reducing the overall cost of ownership. Further, the Pall solution will help reduce environmental emissions as well as waste streams and related disposal costs.
Habshan 5 is part of an immense Integrated Gas Development (IGD) project launched in the UAE in July 2009. The project is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2013. It will produce 900 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of sales gas; 12,000 tons per day of natural gas liquids (NGL); and 5,000 tons per day of liquid sulphur.
