NPGA Launches Partnership With Breaux-Lott Leadership Group

Thursday, Mar 11, 2010

The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) has a more extensive legislative agenda than ever before. As a result, NPGA launched a partnership with the Breaux- Lott Leadership Group to enhance the propane industry's advocacy efforts in Congress. Over the next year, this strengthened legislative team will aggressively support federal legislation to grow the industry.

"The propane gas industry is an American industry, providing clean energy for a variety of applications," said Senator Breaux. "The commonsense policy solutions offered by NPGA are something that both Democrats and Republicans can get behind."

This partnership will expand NPGA's ability to reach additional policymakers on issues most important to the propane industry, including climate change, tax policy, and propane vehicles. Moreover, NPGA and Breaux-Lott will work to reform the Propane Education and Research Act.

"This new relationship between NPGA and the marquis firm led by Senators Lott and Breaux puts us in an exceptional position to achieve our industry's policy objectives," stated Rick Roldan, NPGA President and CEO.

The propane industry enjoyed excellent relationships with Senators Breaux and Lott during their terms in office. "I am pleased to be working with NPGA and America's propane industry again, and see no reason why we can't make major progress on the key issues of the day," said Senator Lott. "Together, we will expand advocacy on industry issues and cement our visibility among policymakers."

Breaux-Lott Leadership Group

Based in Washington, D.C., The Breaux-Lott Leadership Group offers strategic advice, consulting and lobbying to a wide range of clients. The firm unites two former United States Senators Trent Lott and John Breaux, leaders from opposite parties with a combined total of nearly 70 years experience in Congress. It is clear over the last several years that the only way to accomplish true results in Washington is through a bipartisan approach.

National Propane Gas Association

The National Propane Gas Association is the national trade association of the propane industry. NPGA represents approximately 3,100 companies, including producers, wholesalers, transporters, and retailers of propane gas as well as the manufacturers and distributors of associated propane equipment and appliances. 50 million Americans choose propane as their energy source. Propane is a clean-burning, efficient and climate-friendly alternative fuel that is available now.
