Transneft Diascan inspected over 54,000 kilometres of trunk pipelines in 2017. This figure complies with the inspection plan for 2017.

In-line inspection operations were performed using Transneft Diascan’s in-house inspection tools: geometry tools, ultrasound, magnetic, combined magnetic, and combined magnetic-ultrasound inspection tools, as well as ultrasound tools for multiangle inspection of the pipe wall.

Over 47,600 kilometres of trunk pipelines were inspected in 2017. The major part of these operations was carried out on the trunk pipelines of Transneft East (over 10,700 kilometres), Transneft Siberia (about 8,100 kilometres), and Transneft Kama Region (about 5,500 kilometres).

Transneft Diascan also performed in-line inspection of some 6,400 kilometres of petroleum products trunk pipelines of Transneft in 2017. The main volume of operations was carried out on the sites of Transneft Baltic and Transneft Druzhba, where the inspection tools ran over 2,000 kilometres of petroleum products trunk pipelines, and on the petroleum products trunk pipelines of Transneft Upper Volga (over 1,100 kilometres). Defects identified in the course of inspection are eliminated during scheduled repair operations.

Transneft Diascan is a major Russian provider of pipelines technical inspection services. The company has an extensive fleet of in-house inspection equipment with the diameter ranging from 159 to 1,220 mm (6”–48”), which enable a highly accurate assessment of the pipeline transport facilities condition and ensure the environmental safety of hydrocarbons transportation.

The average annual volume of in-line inspection performed by Transneft Diascan is about 60,000 kilometres of pipelines.
