LHR Marine Announces Launch of New Capital Safety Protecta Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) Product Range

LHR Marine’s world leading manufacturer of fall protection equipment, Capital Safety had released the new Protecta Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) to replace the famous Protecta JRG Self Retracting Fall Arrestor.

This new range offers major new features to the customer: The carrying handle is now available from the smallest model, allowing easy handling of the SRL. The handle can be used as a back-up retaining/anchor point to prevent the unit becoming a falling object should the primary anchor fail.  This may help compliance to a dropped objects policy. The user can also carry and connect the SRL with less effort.  Each model is available in two types of housing; lightweight thermoplastic or heavy duty aluminium.  The user can then choose the version that will suit its application the best. Rebel cable models will be available in three different housing sizes: 6 and 10 m, 15 m and 20, 25, and 30 m cable length.

Some dedicated models of the Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) are designed to meet the last updated CE sharp edge standard requirements and can then be used horizontally.  The Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) also features a double swivel and stackable housing making this block the standard in terms of technical features and quality for a Protecta SRL.

Each model of the Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) has a fall indicator karabiner. It allows a Competent Person to perform the yearly inspection visually without having to send the SRL back to a service centre for opening and inspection.  The fall indicator karabiner, combined with a detailed inspection following our user instructions allows a Competent Person to easily perform the annual inspection to identify if the block needs to be repaired.

The Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) also has 30% less moving parts than many competitive SRL’s. It simplifies maintenance and makes service cost efficient.  The Rebel™ Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) range can be used on several different applications.  However, this Protecta SRL is especially dedicated to the construction and industrial markets.  Example applications are steel erection, roofing, general construction, maintenance and so on.
