Gazprom Transgaz Surgut ends five-year upgrade of two compressor stations

Wednesday, Dec 19, 2012

Gazprom Transgaz Surgut has completed a comprehensive upgrade of compressor workshops at the Yarkovo and Samsonovsky Line Pipe Operation Centers.

The upgrade included the replacement of outdated 11.9 MW gas compressor units (GCU) by the 16 MW CGUs. The company also provided compressor stations with new service lines including power, water, heat and gas supply lines, oil lines, systems for removal and purification of sewage, oil containing and domestic wastewaters, auxiliary equipment, GCU piping, junction points. It also established a cutting-edge electronic system for equipment control and management.

Construction and assembling operations were performed in seven stages, with one or two units decommissioned at a time, which made it possible to deliver the planned gas volumes avoiding compressor workshops shutdowns at stations and gas transmission reduction.

The implemented engineering solutions improve the gas transmission system reliability and security.
