Drilling Info Inc., the premier SaaS-based oil and gas business intelligence and decision support technology platform for the global upstream E&P industry, announces the roll-out of its newest product, DI Rigs. Immediately available to all Drilling Info subscribers, DI Rigs provides the real-time location of thousands of rigs throughout the continental United States, comprising some 80 percent of known active domestic rigs with coverage expanding weekly.
“DI Rigs also provides a preview to some of the functionality coming with our next-generation platform, which will roll out throughout 2013.”
Leveraging GPS technology, Drilling Info is able to gather the most accurate location data available for drilling wells today. Expanding on the basic information in the Drillinginfo database, DI Rigs offers up-to-date data on drilling contractors, rig numbers and a multitude of other identifying aspects associated with rigs.
Combining with Drilling Info’s daily drilling permits and completions data, DI Rigs empowers users with a thorough understanding of the economics and adoption rates of newer rig types operating in their active areas.
DI Rigs Part of Drilling Info’s New Suite of Features
“The collecting of GPS information on active rigs in the U.S. has filled a critical information gap that E&P professionals need to gain a better analytical understanding of the oil patch. DI Rigs provides the industry with a sought-after, independent cross-check of location data,” said Allen Gilmer, CEO, Drilling Info. “DI Rigs also provides a preview to some of the functionality coming with our next-generation platform, which will roll out throughout 2013.”
“With so much analytical data available today, the evolution of the Drillinginfo database will make it possible to present the information to our members and leverage it to fuel our analytics team’s ground-breaking efforts to explain and predict production. DI Rigs is addressing these issues in an innovative and incredibly disruptive way,” continued Gilmer.
Current Drilling Info subscribers will have access to additional components of DI Rigs based upon their subscription level. All subscription levels will have access to this first release of DI Rigs.
“I want to commend the team here at Drilling Info who made this complex offering a reality, particularly Richard Grant, vice president, Energy Services Group, Drilling Info, who led the project and championed it throughout the organization,” said Gilmer.
